Grants.gov and NIH are working hard to complete preparations for our transition to FORMS-H application packages. Although we’ll be all set well before our January 25, 2023 due dates, you may see some forms in FORMS-H application packages that still show old expiration dates.
You must use FORMS-H forms for grant application due dates on or after January 25, 2023. Our forms and instructions have also been updated to support the new sharing requirements. This checklist will help you navigate the changes.

As announced over the summer, NIH requires the use of updated application forms (FORMS-H) for due dates on or after January 25, 2023. We will begin adding FORMS-H application packages to active funding opportunity announcements and FORMS-H application form instructions to the How to Apply – Application Guide page as early as October 25 to prepare for the transition.

Applicants applying to NIH funding opportunities with due dates on or after January 25, 2023 must use updated application forms and instructions identified with a Competition ID of “FORMS-H.”
