Gearing Up for Transition to FORMS-H Application Forms

Posted

As announced over the summer, NIH requires the use of updated application forms (FORMS-H) for due dates on or after January 25, 2023. We will begin adding FORMS-H application packages to active funding opportunity announcements and FORMS-H application form instructions to the How to Apply – Application Guide page as early as October 25 to prepare for the transition.

The intended due date for your application determines the correct form version to use.

  • DO use FORMS-G form version for application due dates on or before January 24, 2023
  • DO use FORMS-H form version for application due dates on or after January 25, 2023
  • DO NOT use FORMS-H too early or FORMS-G too late

Not sure which form version you are working on? Our Do I Have the Right Forms for My Application? resource explains how to determine your form version when preparing your application.

Already preparing an application for a due date on or after January 25? Don’t worry. ASSIST, Grants.gov Workspace, and many institution system-to-system solutions have copy features that allow you to move your information from one application package to another. If you take advantage of these features once the FORMS-H packages are available, be sure to check the transferred information and complete any new requirements.
