In 2020, I shared information about NLM’s launch of the NIH Preprint Pilot: A New Experiment for a New Era to explore how inclusion of preprints in our literature resources, PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed, could accelerate the discoverability and maximize the impact of NIH-supported research. We are now expanding into a second phase of the pilot to inform our understanding of the role of preprints in communicating the breadth of NIH-funded research.

The NIH Public Access Compliance Monitor (PACM) provides an institution with the current compliance status of all journal articles that are associated with the institution that fall under the NIH Public Access Policy.

In November I blogged about NIH efforts to improve access to research results and updates related to the NIH public access policy. Today, NIH announced that the compliance measures outlined in the November guide notice will be implemented for all awards with anticipated start dates on or after July 1, 2013 (see NIH Guide Notice NOT-13-042). ….
