The Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (PHS Policy) requires Assured institutions to submit a written report to the NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) at least once every 12 months. Recipient institutions with an Animal Welfare Assurance must submit their Annual Reports to the NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare by December 1, 2022 (NOT-OD-23-004). These reports cover the October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022 reporting period.
The following information must be reported:
- Changes in the institution’s AAALAC International accreditation status, animal care and use program, Institutional Official, and/or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) membership
- Dates for the program and facility IACUC Semiannual evaluations
- Any IAUC member minority view
