Key Steps to Setting Up Your Subaward Agreement

Posted

Advancing scientific research and discovery often involves collaboration between various institutions, universities, and organizations. Subaward agreements are key to making this all happen.

Are you looking to collaborate with other organizations in your research? Here are three steps to start setting up your subaward agreement, which must be done in partnership between the prime and subrecipient:

  • The recipient must enter into a formal written agreement with each subrecipient
  • Agreement must address the negotiated arrangements for meeting the scientific, administrative, financial, and reporting requirements of the grant
  • The agreement must be approved by the Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) at both institutions

NIH policy experts walk through these steps, in addition to the key elements of a written agreement, foreign subrecipient agreements, and more in this recent webinar.
