Dr. Della Hann joins OER as Deputy Director for the Office of Extramural Research. Since 2008, Dr. Hann has been acting in the OER Deputy Director position, while at the same time serving as the Acting Director for the Office of Autism Research Coordination at the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH). Beginning her NIH career as a program officer at NIMH in the early 1990s, Dr. Hann has since held a variety of leadership roles both within NIMH and OER, including Senior Policy Advisor in OER and Director, Office of Science Policy, Planning and Communications at NIMH. There she led and directed a comprehensive set of programs on science policy and program evaluation, strategic planning, scientific disease coding and analysis, and internal and external communications and dissemination. Dr. Hann received her Ph.D. in psychology in 1986 from the University of Tennessee.
