The project title must be no more than 200 characters long, including the spaces between words. The NIH application guide provides answers to this and many more application submission questions.

What is the preferred font and font size for an R01 application in Significance/Innovation/Approach sections?
The preferred fonts are Arial, Georgia, Helvetica, and Palatino Linotype, and the preferred font size is 11 pt or larger. More information on formatting can be found on our Format Attachments page.
Please guide about the Title word limit for initiating the grant application.
