The redesign updates the home page, as well as the About eRA page with extensive new information about eRA and the services it offers to existing and potential agency partners. Don’t worry – the information sections you rely on every day for applicants, recipients and reviewers remain unchanged.

Updated Resources for Registration in eRA Commons

Simplified wizard-like screens will greet signing officials who are completing the one-time registration for their organization in eRA Commons. The updated Registration screens accommodate SAM-issued Unique Entity Identifiers (UEIs) and will pre-populate institutional information based on available active registration data in SAM.gov.

Do I Need To Include eRA Commons IDs for Other Significant Contributors Listed on the R&R SR/Key Person Profile Form of My Grant Application?

Yes. As of due dates on or after January 25, 2022,  eRA Commons IDs must be provided in the Credential field for all individuals listed on the R&R Sr/Key Person Profile form. This includes all senior/key personnel, other significant contributors (OSCs), and other key individuals required to be entered on the form by your funding opportunity announcement.

What Are the Options for Obtaining an eRA Commons Username (Commons ID) For a Senior/Key Person Who Isn’t Affiliated With a Registered Organization?

Beginning with application due dates on or after January 25, 2022, NIH will require eRA Commons IDs in the Credential field of the Sr/Key Person Profile form for all individuals listed on that form. Given this expanded requirement, we’ve received an increase in inquiries related to obtaining and including eRA Commons IDs, especially for individuals not affiliated with an eRA Commons registered organization.
