Please join us in welcoming Dr. Matthew Portnoy to the OER team! He was recently appointed as director of the Division of Special Programs, Office of Extramural Programs and the NIH SBIR/STTR Program Coordinator. Most recently, Dr. Portnoy has worked at the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, both as a program director and as the SBIR/STTR program coordinator. Dr. Portnoy originally came to NIH in 2001 as an intramural postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Eric Green’s laboratory at the National Human Genome Research Institute. He received his B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from Penn State University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University.
