The AREA program is one vehicle through which NIH is ensuring geographical diversity of Recovery Act awards. Please share these upcoming AREA receipt dates widely.
- September 24, 2009 – An ARRA supported AREA (R15), RFA-OD-09-007, maintains the same objectives as the AREA Program Announcement (PA-06-042), but increases the funding limit to $300,000 in direct costs for up to three years and extends eligibility to institutions that have received no more than $6 million dollars in funding from the National Institutes of Health.
- October 25, 2009 – A new AREA (R15) program announcement will be reissued soon to reflect funding and page limit enhancements in RFA-OD-09-007.
