Remember to always check for specific instructions in the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)

  1. Does the one page allowed for Specific Aims count toward the number of pages allowed in the Research Strategy? A: No. The Specific Aims’ 1-page limit is separate from the Research Strategy.
  2. Where is the Bibliography/References Cited section attached? A: It is attached on the Other Project Information Component form to Item #9.
  3. What should I do if the form does not allow me to provide the Human Subjects Assurance Number on the SF424 (R&R)? A: Temporarily, if you answer “Yes” to this question about IRB Pending on the Other Project Information Component form Item #1a, the Human Subject Assurance Number field becomes unavailable. Since the NIH still must collect this information, applicants in this situation should be prepared to provide this number in the eRA Commons as part of the Just-in-Time process. The eRA Commons Just-In-Time (JIT) functionality has been modified so applicants may select the appropriate Human Subject Assurance Number from those listed in the eRA Commons Institution Profile.
